Product availability Coffee

All coffee is roasted per order to enable maximum freshness and therefore enjoyment. Coffee orders will be roasted and dispatched when payment is validated/received. From receipt of payment please allow two working days plus shipping time.


Time of delivery is dependent on stock availability. Should stock be available, orders will be dispatched the same day that payment is validated/received. Should the product be unavailable, Hammer Down Coffee Company (Pty) Ltd will contact you directly with a delivery time estimate. Every effort is made to effect shipment of your order timeously; however unforeseen circumstances may cause delays. Should we be faced with such an occurrence Hammer Down Coffee Company (Pty) Ltd will contact you directly with a revised delivery schedule. All orders finalized after 11h00 (CAT) on Fridays will be processed the following business day.

Delivery Policy and Order Processing

When you click to make a purchase with us legal obligations arise and your right to refund of monies charged to your credit card or paid in any other way agreed by us, are limited by our Terms and Conditions. You must not make any purchase through this site unless you understand and agree to all Terms and Conditions. Once payment is made for the purchase, it is deemed that you have read and understood the Terms and Conditions for such purchase. The Courier Guy is our trusted shipping partners providing courier services to anywhere in South Africa
We ship every weekday. Orders received by 11h00 CAT will ship that day. Orders received thereafter will ship the following weekday.
We do not ship or deliver on weekends. We do not mark-up shipping costs at all. Shipping costs are a flat R95. We offer tracking on request via email. This information is subject to change without notice.

Free Delivery to all major cities with any order over R450.

Undeliverable packages. Please ensure the correct shipping address is provided from the outset as title and risk will pass to you once the order has left our premises. Occasionally packages are returned to us undeliverable. Should this event take place every attempt will be made to contact you to make arrangements for re-shipment.

Export restrictions

Because of the costs involved in transporting great distances, shoppers outside of South Africa are requested to please contact Hammer Down on +27 83 375 7997 and we will discuss your request and do everything in our power to accommodate your order.

Refunds/Returns Policy

As coffee beans are a perishable product, we do not accept returns where there is no quality issue with the product you received. Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee that what you order will be to your personal taste. The roasters we work with, have been chosen because of the high quality of the coffees they source and roast, so we rarely see quality issues with their beans. Nevertheless, if you suspect there is a quality issue with what you have received, please let us know by responding to your order confirmation email or using the contact page. We will happily liaise with the roaster on your behalf to arrange for a replacement.

If a refund is requested on a cancellation of an order, a  15% admin/handling fee will be deducted from the total refund. We reserve the right to refuse or charge a higher cancellation fee on special order cancellations.

* Note:

Hammer Down Coffee Company (Pty) Ltd recommends that you use The Courier Guy for all returns as it offers shipment tracking through a 24 hours customer helpline. Should you choose to use a carrier that does not offer a tracking facility and the goods are lost then no refund or return will be considered. International customers should make use of a courier that offers:

  1. Shipment tracking.
  2. Ensure your package for safe return and declare the full value of the shipment failing which loss or damage will be for your account.

What do I do if my order is incomplete, incorrect or damaged?

If you order is incomplete, incorrect, or damaged, please contact us via email sales@hammerdown.coffee or call 0833757997. Our Customer Service hours are Monday-Friday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. PST.

Payment Options and Pricing

All transactions will be processed in South African Rands (ZAR).

Hammer Down Coffee Company (Pty) Ltd endeavors to offer you competitive prices on current products; your total order price will include the price of the purchase plus any applicable sales tax (VAT) and shipping charges (on the day of shipping).

Hammer Down Coffee Company (Pty) Ltd reserves the right to change pricing at any time without prior notice.

Should Hammer Down Coffee Company (Pty) Ltd reduce its price on any shipped products within 10 working days of shipment, you may contact us and request a refund of the difference between the price you were charged and the reduced selling price. To receive the refund you must contact us within 14 days of shipment.

Payment options accepted

Payment may be made via MasterCard and Visa.

If you do not have a credit card please utilise one of the other payment options, or simply log off and return to the site at a later time to complete your order. All of your order details will be saved online in “Your Account” available for use whenever you’re ready! Sorry for the inconvenience.

Security Policy

Card Transactions will be acquired for Hammer Down Coffee Company (Pty) Ltd via PayGate (Pty) Ltd who are the approved payment gateway for all South African Acquiring Banks. PayGate uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) and no Card details are stored on the website. Users may go to www.paygate.co.za to view their security certificate and security policy.

We have the right, but not the obligation, to monitor any activity and content associated with the Website. We may investigate any reported violation of these Terms and Conditions or complaints and take any action that we deem appropriate (which may include, but is not limited to, issuing warnings, suspending, terminating, or attaching conditions to your access and/or removing any materials from the Website).


The Terms and Conditions will be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa whose Courts will have exclusive jurisdiction in any dispute, save that we have the right, at our sole discretion, to commence and pursue proceedings in alternative jurisdictions.
